Viburnum is a plant widely used in medicine and in the production of many cosmetics. Jam, luxurious compotes are cooked from its berries, juices are prepared. For long-term storage, the fruits are dried or frozen.

There are many recipes for alcoholic beverages that differ in strength, taste and manufacturing technology. A special place among strong alcoholic drinks is given to tinctures from viburnum, which are appreciated not only for their pleasant taste, but also attribute healing properties. Making tincture of viburnum at home is not at all difficult. From berries insisted on alcohol, moonshine, cognac or ordinary vodka, they get a pleasant-tasting laughing drink.

Viburnum tincture at home - general principles of the technological process

The fruits of viburnum have a characteristic tart and slightly bitter taste. Gather berries already hit by the first autumn frosts. Frozen fruits lose their astringency, acquire sweetness and are not so noticeably bitter. So you can collect viburnum for our purposes throughout late autumn and winter.

For the manufacture of tinctures, it is recommended to use only glassware. The most suitable containers are three-liter jars. It is convenient to fill them and the volume of capacity is what you need.

For the preparation of an alcoholic drink, ripe berries should be chosen. Freshly picked fruits need to be peeled from the branches, removing spoiled or dried out. Before use, the berries are washed with water and scattered on a towel to dry well. Tanks are also well washed and dried.

Viburnum tincture at home is prepared on vodka, moonshine or alcohol. A special taste is possessed by a drink infused with cognac.

Berries insist from one to two months. Tanks are placed in a darkened room, saving from direct sunlight. There are formulations that allow you to prepare a useful drug, and for a shorter time. If you bake viburnum in the oven, you can make a drink in just a week.

The finished tincture is filtered with several folded layers of gauze, after which it is poured into clean and exclusively glass bottles, allowed to stand for several more days to fix the result. Store tincture, tightly corking containers, in a cool, dark place.

Homemade tincture of viburnum on vodka - "Kalinka"

A simple recipe for tincture of viburnum on vodka. The drink is obtained with a strength slightly below 40 degrees, and, thanks to the addition of sugar, it is soft and easy to drink. For taste and unusual aroma, cinnamon and citric acid are used. If desired, these components can be excluded.

Ingredients:

a pound of berries of viburnum;

200 ml of vodka;

sugar - 150 gr.;

a glass of drinking water;

a quarter of a teaspoon of “lemons” and as much ground cinnamon.

Cooking method:

We pluck from branches of berries in a colander. Rinse with cool water and dry without spreading from a colander.

Prepare the container. To prepare the tincture, it is better to take a glass jar. After washing the bottle with warm water, wipe it dry with a towel inside.

We fill the jar with viburnum, pour vodka. Make sure that alcohol covers the berries by at least two centimeters, if the indicated amount of vodka is not enough, add a little more.

Pour sugar into a saucepan, add water, cinnamon, citric acid and stir well.

We place the saucepan on low heat, stirring occasionally, prepare a clear syrup, cool.

Pour the cooled sugar syrup into a jar of berries. Shaking the contents thoroughly, we seal the container with a nylon cap.

We place the jar with the future tincture in a dark, not cold place for three to four weeks. The longer you stand, the better the taste.

The filtered infusion is filtered through gauze and poured into a container. We give the tincture to stand for another four days.

Homemade tincture of viburnum "Classical" (alcohol)

Alcohol tincture from viburnum, cooked at home - a drug. A strong, slightly bitter drink is preferably consumed in small doses, with preventive purposes. The recipe for tincture is simple and everyone can cook it. Pay attention to alcohol, it’s better to give up the fortress a bit and take the “first-timer” of home distillation than to prepare a tincture for therapeutic purposes from a base surrogate purchased.

Ingredients:

250 grams of viburnum;

half a liter of pure drinking alcohol;

500 ml of spring water.

Cooking method:

Rinsing viburnum, having dried, pour into a jar.

Pour water and alcohol into the container. After stirring well, tightly close.

We insist viburnum on alcohol for a month. Then we filter through 5-7 layers of gauze and pour into a glass container.

Homemade tincture of viburnum on cognac with honey - "Cognac"

Honey not only allows you to soften the taste of an alcoholic drink, but also increases its therapeutic benefits. Cognac gives the tincture a richer flavor and muffles the specific smell of berries with its aroma.

Ingredients:

two kilos of viburnum;

a bottle of 3-year-old cognac;

a pound of honey;

spring water, filtered or thawed.

Cooking method:

After removing the berries from the twigs, we sort through, removing spoiled and wrinkled. We wash the viburnum with water, dry it, spreading it on a towel.

We rinse the jar, thoroughly wipe it with a towel from the inside. The container must be clean and dry.

Pour dried berries into a jar and fill them with cognac.

We measure half a liter of water in a saucepan and heat it a little.

Combine honey with warm water, stir until dissolved. Cool the honey mixture.

Pour the cooled sweet solution into a jar of viburnum, stir.

Tightly closing, place the container in a darkened place. It is desirable to keep viburnum on cognac with honey for at least a month and a half, but 60 days is recommended.

We filter the drink, pour it into a glass container. Keep tightly closed in a cool place.

Homemade tincture of viburnum on moonshine with pine nuts - Sibiryachka

Viburnum berries have a tart taste and a specific aroma. To soften them, we will insist on the kernels of pine nuts with anise. We cook on moonshine, the fortress of which is selected according to our own taste. If desired, moonshine can be replaced with 40-degree wheat vodka.

Ingredients:

viburnum, berries - a liter jar;

liter of moonshine, you can vodka;

cedar kernels - 50 pcs.;

3 gr. anise (seeds);

three tablespoons of sugar;

drinking water - half a glass.

Cooking method:

We washed and dried berries of viburnum in a jar.

We wash the kernels of pine nuts in a colander. Scalp with boiling water, dry.

Pour pine nuts to the viburnum, pour moonshine into a jar, add anise.

We insist in a dark place for three weeks. An important point - tincture should be shaken well and stirred daily.

Filter the finished infusion through a sieve or a multilayer gauze filter.

On low heat, we make transparent syrup from sugar and water. Cool it to air temperature and mix with viburnum infusion.

Pour the tincture of viburnum into clean bottles and, corking tightly, put it in a cool place for storage.

Homemade tincture of viburnum: a quick recipe

Viburnum tinctures at home are prepared not only by prolonged infusion, there are also faster recipes. If the berries are preheated in the oven, the drink can be prepared in just a few hours. This tincture is recommended to be prepared only on vodka, moonshine can ruin its taste.

Ingredients:

a kilogram of selected viburnum;

a liter of wheat vodka;

unrefined sugar.

Cooking method:

We sort out, removing freshly picked viburnum from the branches. Measuring a kilogram, rinse and dry well.

Sprinkle viburnum on a baking sheet and put in a hot oven. Bake the berries at 180 degrees. The fruits should not dry out as soon as they become soft, we take out and cool.

We fill the baked viburnum with glass containers two-thirds of the volume and, pouring half a centimeter to the neck, pour vodka.

We insist until the drink acquires a bright color, then we filter.

Pour a little, taking into account the desired result, sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

Tincture can be used immediately, but it is best to withstand another three days to fix.

Homemade tincture of viburnum on vodka with oak bark and honey - "A la cognac"

Making tincture of viburnum at home, you can achieve special taste of the drink. For example, if you add a little oak bast to berries drenched in alcohol, the tincture as a result of long aging will resemble good, aged cognac. We purchase oak bark in a pharmacy.

Ingredients:

a full glass of ripe viburnum;

half a liter of wheat vodka or high-quality, repeatedly distilled moonshine;

a spoon of liquid honey;

oak bark - 1 tbsp. l

Cooking method:

Pour dried berries in a large glass jar.

Pour high-quality moonshine or vodka into the container.

Add oak bark, add honey and mix thoroughly. Honey should completely dissolve in alcohol.

We seal the jar with a capron lid and remove it for three months in a darkened place.

We filter out the aged tincture first with several layers of gauze, and then we pass through a cotton wool inserted into the funnel.

The tincture is ready, it can be bottled and put away for storage.

Viburnum tincture at home - cooking tricks and useful recommendations

If the viburnum was collected before frost, put the fruits taken from the branches for a day in the freezer. Before making the tincture, thaw the fruits at room temperature.

Do not take soft berries, their skin may burst and the flesh will cloud the tincture.

It is advisable to filter the finished, settled tincture again to completely remove the precipitate. To do this, usually use cotton wool, which is placed in a funnel.
