Look spectacular in photos - the desire of every woman, regardless of age, appearance and circumstances.

However, quite often it happens that in the prettiest woman, a large nose and a second chin “grow” from somewhere, the legs “become” short and crooked, and light makeup looks like a porcelain mask ...

In order to avoid the appearance of such unsuccessful shots, we suggest you use several rules of photo models, thanks to which you will always look beautiful in the frame.

Rule 1: Trust the Photographer

You must work in collaboration and listen to the advice and recommendations of a person who is on the other side of the lens, because he knows better. He will definitely tell you what needs to be done for a successful shot (unless of course he is holding a camera in his hands for the first time in his life). And at the same time, do not hesitate to tell the photographer if something does not suit you or interferes.

Rule 2: Rehearse postures and gestures in advance

It is advisable to rehearse the most winning poses for you in front of the mirror and remember them. And the following techniques of photo models will help you in this:

• Straighten your shoulders and retract your stomach.

• Cross your ankles. So you will become more slender: the legs visually lengthen, and the hips will look narrower and more elegant.

• Hands should not hang along the body. If you don’t know where to put them, then play with jewelry, hair or just pick up an object. If you want your hands to look more taut, then hold them slightly apart to the side - the muscles of the hands will tighten and the desired effect will be created.

• Tilt your head slightly, but not towards the photographer, so that there are no unpleasant folds on the neck.

Recommended basic postures for a simple photo shoot

• To prevent the appearance of a “second” chin, make sure that the lens is at your eye level or slightly higher.

• No need to hide the limbs - so you make yourself a “cripple”. Make sure the camera always sees your arms and legs. But if you want to hide your hands in your pockets, then the skin should be completely hidden under the clothes. When shooting a chest portrait, do whatever they want with them, just don’t lower them down.

• When taking pictures at full height, do not place your legs exactly parallel to each other, forming a straight line with the figure. It is better to place them at a small angle (30 - 60 degrees).

Rule 3: Sincere Smile

In this matter, the best assistant is the mirror. Try to practice smiling in different ways: mysteriously, erotically, like Hollywood stars wide, or vice versa - with a little lip tightening. But your smile should not be artificially played. For the most realistic shots, photo models use the following technique: turn away from the camera and tune into a smile, remembering or presenting certain situations (depending on the desired effect), then turn to the lens and smile at the exact moment when the shutter clicks. If you try to “freeze” with a smile on your face and hold it, then it will turn out forced and tense.

Here it is ...

Rule 4: Proper Clothing

It is not clothing that colors a person, but vice versa. You should not wear excessively variegated and elaborate clothes, which can look ridiculous and simply distract attention from you. Clothing should emphasize your strengths and hide flaws, as well as match your chosen image for photography.

What clothes should not be worn

Avoid thick knitted clothes, formal suits. It is also better to abandon the turtleneck and other clothes and accessories "under the throat", completely depriving you of the neck. Blazers and blouses with buttons in two rows will make you twice as full. Too light and shiny tights will turn your legs into "sausages." Pants and jeans with a "low rise" are best worn only by girls with long legs and a wasp waist, otherwise they will reward you with the appearance of "ears" and folds above the belt, visually shorten your legs. Moreover, the waist should be emphasized with a top, for example, and not with a shapeless shirt hiding it.

Color spectrum

• Try not to wear clothes of pale yellow and beige shades, as it merges with skin color. This is especially true for swimwear, in them you will seem naked.

• Green and its shades give the skin an unpleasant marsh hue.

• Black and violet will add you a few years.

• In the evening and at night, dark clothing is not acceptable for shooting, as it will merge with the night landscape.

Footwear

Do not put on shoes or short boots on bare feet - this way they will visually “cut” them. The exception is high-heeled shoes - they always have a green light. After all, heels will make any figure taller and slimmer, and will fit almost any style!

Rule 5: Flawless Makeup

Perfect skin

On the day of photography, treat your face with tonic and apply cream or a special foundation under makeup. Next, you need to mask minor flaws, because the camera "sees" much more shortcomings than the human eye. It is better to mask various rashes, spots and redness with special correctors. If there are none, then use a dense tonal foundation.

Next, apply a foundation in a good layer, the tone of which should be as close as possible to your natural skin color and, necessarily, matte. Moreover, the foundation should be applied not only to the entire face, but also to the neck and décolleté, if necessary. It is better to tint the area around the eyes with a cream of a lighter texture, so as not to emphasize small wrinkles.

To fix the tone, make the skin dull and velvety, as well as to avoid the appearance of oily sheen, apply a light layer of powder on the skin.

Eyes - a mirror of the soul

The main thing in makeup for photography is the eyes. In the pictures, makeup looks weaker than in life. Therefore, you need to make it more saturated than you are used to. Make up the upper eyelashes harder, and do not overdo the lower ones so that the effect of circles under the eyes does not work. Be sure to accentuate your eyes with eyeliner or pencil. Pearlescent shades, sparkles and rhinestones are a taboo for taking pictures, because they will reflect, and look like white spots in the pictures. Too dark shadows will make you several years older. And the shadows of green, purple and blue can look simply vulgar. The perfect gamut - from beige to chocolate, even black. You can experiment with interspersed with olive, violet and gray matte shadows.

Eyebrows

Curving eyebrows creates a facial expression. Expressive and beautiful eyebrows will give you a special charm, and groomed and shapeless can spoil even the most beautiful face. So it’s worth taking care of eyebrow correction in advance. And to emphasize them you will be helped by a special brush and pencil for eyebrows, the color of which should be in harmony with your appearance, and not look contrasted and unnatural.

Lips

To prevent lips from being dry and chapped, apply the balm the night before taking a picture. To give the perfect shape, be sure to use a pencil. It is best to give preference to lipsticks in soft and gentle tones. After all, too bright lipstick can emphasize your fatigue, add age to you and even make your image vulgar. To make the lips seductive, you can put a little gloss on the middle of the lower lip.

Have a nice shot!
