To cook the usual jam sometimes there is not the slightest desire. And then we turn on the imagination, and the most unusual desserts are born, and, I think, that's how they came up with chocolate with salted caramel, compote with mint or kissel with basil.

Today we will prepare a very fragrant jam, which can be served as a dessert, or supplement ice cream with them. It is so unusual, just as tasty.

You can add any spices, but first prepare with those spices, which are presented below. And when you like everything, you can complement it with anything.

Cooking time - 12 hours

Ingredients for cooking:

  • Plums - 1 kg

  • Sugar - 1-1.3 kg

  • Citric acid - ½ tsp.

  • Star anise - 1 inflorescence

  • Cinnamon - 1 stick

  • Clove - 2-3 buds

Cooking:

We wash the plums and remove the seeds. If you choose plums for this jam - pay attention to how easily the stone is extracted. There are varieties where it is almost impossible to do. If the plum is slightly immature - make an incision with a knife and then remove the bone.

Pour the entire norm of sugar, cover and leave overnight. Plum will give off a lot of juice.

We put on a small gas and boil 5 minutes after boiling. Remove the foam - as it harms conservation. Cool the jam completely.

Filter the syrup through a sieve. Let it stand for a little so that the syrup flows out as much as possible. Plum while we set aside and are engaged in syrup.

In the syrup we introduce all the spices and cook for 15-20 minutes until the state of the ball. We still remove the foam. For the test, put the syrup in water with ice, it is more convenient to do this in a glass, - if it has dissolved, boil again. If the syrup remains a ball - then it is time to move on to the next step.

Use a small strainer or slotted spoon to extract the spices. Pour the plums and cook for 5-7 minutes. Stir so that the fragrant syrup soaks all the slices.

We prepare jars and lay out plum slices. Pour the syrup so that it covers the fruit.

We roll up with sterile lids and store at room temperature.

The jam is so aromatic that a little syrup can be added to the meat sauce, the aroma and taste will be very original.

Despite the fact that the ingredients are quite ordinary - you can buy them at the supermarket, the taste is non-trivial. If you add it to a cake such as cheesecake, then you do not need to add other spices, it will be delicious and beautiful.

Treat your girlfriend with jam, and pour a little cognac in tea - and you will have a pleasant, cozy and cheerful evening.
