The original proposal was made by representatives of the authorities: the health authorities that give birth to women will pay extra if they agree to breastfeed their babies. Thus, officials want to popularize breastfeeding.

The English Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund is going to give out four thousand young mothers 200 pounds of grocery vouchers if they breastfeed their children. Experiments have shown that such a proposal strongly stimulates every second young mother.

After a successful experiment, researchers are going to go to the masses in the same sentence. Initially, if a woman agrees to breastfeed her baby for a month and a half, she will receive 120 pounds. If a woman decides to increase this period, the remuneration will increase to 200 pounds. Experts hope in this way to increase the term of feeding newborns with breast milk. Indeed, in some parts of England this figure is extremely low.

There were also critics of this initiative who call such stimulation of breastfeeding unworthy for the country. However, a number of retailers responded to participation in this program and agreed to give out some products for vouchers. Observations have shown that young mothers spend the received pounds on the purchase of products, diapers, toys and children's clothing.
