Adding a couple of servings of milk or kefir to your daily diet, you will not be able to change the size of your clothes to a smaller one - a conclusion reached by scientists by analyzing the results of past studies.

Some researchers claim that dairy products help people feel full longer, and that the calcium found in milk and yogurt can prevent the accumulation of adipose tissue. But these are just unproven theories.

Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston analyzed the results of 29 studies in which a total of 2,101 volunteers participated. Some of them have been prescribed additional servings of dairy products.

All these studies were very different in the amount of dairy products consumed - from one to more than six servings per day, and the duration of the intervention in the diet - from one month to two years. Some studies required participants to follow a low-calorie diet to lose weight.

When the researchers analyzed the results, they found that dairy products provide some benefits in the short term, when they are only part of a diet for weight loss. But on the other hand, if you increase the consumption of milk, yogurt and cheese, this will not help to lose extra pounds.

Scientists are calling for a healthy and balanced diet. In this regard, the US Department of Agriculture recommends teens and adults drink three cups of skim milk or kefir per day. According to the same recommendations, one cup of milk is equivalent to 40 g of natural cheese or 60 g of processed cheese.
