Winter shoes require care so that they serve you longer. Not only your general appearance, but also health depends on the condition of warm boots or boots. No wonder the popular saying advises: "Keep your feet warm ..." After all, the reason for the fall and winter colds is wet and frozen feet.

Observe the following rule: shoes are tidied up not before going out, but after you return home. Do not leave wet and dirty shoes at night.

Unfortunately, there are also such misunderstandings when in the morning you have to wash your shoes already in outerwear, then quickly blow dry with a hairdryer and spread cream on the way. It is more pleasant in the morning to leisurely put on clean and dry shoes or boots. Therefore, when you come home, immediately take care of the condition of your shoes.

Keep warm, put on warm socks with slippers. Then prepare two rags, a bucket of water, a spatula for removing dirt, shoe polish and wrinkled paper.

Before entering the warm room, shake off the snow from the boots until it melts. Snowflakes only seem clean and white. At home, they will turn into dirty water containing numerous chemical elements.

It’s easier to brush off snowflakes with a soft brush than to get rid of wet salt streaks. A vacuum cleaner will help to collect a large amount of snow on shoes and in the hallway, just do not forget to shake it out immediately.

Next, wipe the leather surface first with a damp and then dry cloth.

Remove fresh dirt with a spatula. Pre-soak dry pieces, but do not scrap with a knife. Pour lukewarm water into the bucket, with a damp cloth, wash off the dirt from the top first, and then from the heels and soles. Wipe with a dry cloth.

Your health and the durability of shoes also depend on the condition of the insoles. Factory wear out quickly and do not protect the feet from the cold, they usually consist of a piece of cardboard and a thin fabric sewn to it.

Moisture can sometimes accumulate between the insole and the base of the shoes, so you need to remove and dry them. And it is better to have several options for spare dry insoles. Choose them depending on your weight, foot features and weather.

Size can be adjusted by cutting off excess. Or yourself, cut comfortable insoles from the bootleg of old boots. In winter, the feet will be comfortable in the insoles of natural wool and felt. Pay attention to the heated insoles.

Qualitative characteristics of good winter insoles:

  1. Water resistant.
  2. Soft.
  3. Warm.
  4. Comfortable, can be orthopedic.
  5. Fit to the base of the shoe and do not slip.

Unfasten and check the locks, they must also be dry and clean. Remove dust with zippers with an old toothbrush. Try not to damage the delicate teeth of the clasp. Lightly run a paraffin candle or a dry bar of soap over the zipped button. Then lower and raise the “dog” several times. Loosen or remove the laces. Wipe the surface in the folds of the lacing. Leave the shoes open so that it dries and airs faster.

Never put wet shoes near open flames or near radiators. From high temperature, the boots are deformed, and their skin is wrinkled. Fragile seams will scorch, lose elasticity and tear.

Stuff thin paper or cloth in boots, take out and replace after about an hour.

Some advise stuffing boots with old newspapers, but they can dye the fur, and then the legs.

Lay a rag (cardboard) on the floor or an open shelf in a warm room, put winter shoes on top. In a closed cabinet, clean only after it has completely dried.

Never brush dust and dirt on shoes with a cream sponge. Use this product for a clean and dry surface. Select cream according to skin color.

Cream-soaked shoes wipe with a piece of velvet or plush fabric after ten minutes. So you remove the remnants of the cream and polish the boots to a perfect shine.

In the old days, genuine leather shoes were smeared with castor oil, allowed to soak, and then smeared with cream and rubbed.

These shoes look elegant, but they need special care. Cleanse your skin with a warm solution of soap without dyes or chemical additives. Then wash with clean water and wipe dry.

Folk recipes recommend wiping problem areas on light boots with onion juice or gasoline. Modern women of fashion will have to air the shoes for a long time.

There is a better tip: rub the stains on the white leather product with a soft eraser, then with a napkin dipped in skim milk.

Suede shoes are lightweight, they are beautiful and retain heat well. But she can grow thin and lose her attractive appearance.

Along with the purchase of suede shoes, get the following care products: a spray bottle with cleaning foam, a spray bottle, a special sponge and a hard brush for suede shoes.

Remove dust with a brush with rubber inserts. Shake the detergent bottle and apply to the surface of the suede. Let it dry. Remove the dried foam with a brush.

Rub the stained spots with fine emery paper, then hold over the steam. Color touch up with spray paint.

Please note that this paint has a pungent smell and is poorly washed from the skin of hands and other surfaces, it is better to work with it outdoors.

These are the warmest shoes for cold winters with dry snow. They do not wear it in slush. And although they are made of soft felt and fabric, it is impossible to wash them in the basin or in the washing machine.

For such shoes, you can use carpet cleaners or suede.

You can wipe with a cloth soaked in cold water. Felt shoes dry for a long time, so they don’t wash inside. Too wet boots after drying can sit. Push cotton or thin cloth inside, adjust the shape of soft shoes. After an hour, change the earbuds to dry.

There are a lot of decorations on decorative felt boots and ugg boots; wipe them more carefully. Give exclusive models a special cleaning. Wipe the uggs with a water repellent before going out.

Buy a spare pair of shoes for the winter in case of slush and severe frost. Gently wash winter boots and boots, change insoles, dry correctly, treat with cream and water-repellent.
