Modern children living in the era of the Internet and television have completely different values in priority than children, whose maturation took place in the middle of the last century. The change in children's preferences is clearly demonstrated by the fact that social values in the country have completely changed.
If fifty years ago, children dreamed of becoming scientists, police, doctors, engineers or architects, then current accelerators prefer completely different professional fields. According to a sociological survey in which 3,500 10-14-year-old girls and boys took part, modern children consider the profession that is associated with show business to be the most popular and prestigious.
1st place - musician, member of a pop group, singer;
2nd place - actor, director, broadcaster (“journalist”) or professions related to show business (producer, presenter);
3rd place - model, fashion designer;
4th place - a bank employee;
5th place - manager of a large company.
Unfortunately, such honorable professions as a teacher, athlete, journalist and military took places from 6 to 10. The 11th and 12th places went to the professions of a fitness trainer and programmer. Hair stylist was in 13th place. The profession of a pilot-cosmonaut or pilot, who was at the peak of popularity in the previous decade, took only 14th place. The children put the profession of stewardess in 17th place, the trainer in 15th place, the driver (racer) in 16th place. In 18th place was the profession of a rescuer of the Ministry of Emergencies or a fireman. At 19 - the designer of robots. The last 20 place was taken by the profession of a chef.
Alas, the professions related to production were not included in the ranking of the most popular professions among children.
